In 2015, I went to India for six months to study textiles. I had no idea about the country, the culture, or how much it would bring me. And what happened? I loved the culture shock; everything and everyone inspired me, and it left me wanting more! I returned to India several times to explore the regions of Rajasthan and Kutch in search of artisans who weave, block print, and embroider. By going on such an independent research trip, I learned a lot about Indian crafts and made connections.

Products

Majstudio's products are selected with a love for textiles and an eye for the handmade, and are now available in this webshop. I maintain close contact with the makers remotely, and together we create various fashion and interior collections. The artisans in Jaipur and Kashmir create ethically sourced products on a small scale, using as much recycled materials as possible. In my webshop, you'll find a diverse collection of my favorite crafts; Kantha, featuring upcycled cotton saris and thousands of stitches, Blockprint fabrics that are printed with the most magnificent colors and prints with hand carved wooden blocks, and a variety of embroidery, both antique and new.

In my studio, you can try on your favorite jacket, view tapestries, and admire everything else with your own eyes. I also regularly attend various markets in North Holland. Seeing you go home beaming and happy means everything to me!
