Visit Majstudio

Majstudio is a welcoming studio located in Ilpendam, just outside Amsterdam. You are very welcome to visit the studio by appointment. Visiting in person is a great way to truly experience the collection — feeling the fabrics, trying on the garments, and finding the perfect match that suits you best.

The studio exists alongside the Majstudio webshop (maj-studio.com). Everything you see online is available to view and try on in the studio. In addition, you’ll often find unique pieces and one-of-a-kind items in the studio that are not always available online.

I love welcoming visitors and sharing the story behind Majstudio — from how a piece is made to the inspiration and process behind each product. A studio visit offers a more personal experience and the chance to connect with the brand in a relaxed setting.

Visits are by appointment only. Parking is free throughout Ilpendam.

Sometimes I notice that customers find my jackets so beautiful that they want to save them for a special occasion. I see that as a real compliment — but honestly, I also think it’s a bit of a shame.

Yes, they are special jackets… but they’re meant to be worn. Of course, they’re perfect for a special day or a chic event. But they can be just as beautiful in a casual moment: while running errands, going to work, or on a city trip.

It really starts with something simple: hang the jacket on the coat rack downstairs and wear it whenever you feel like it.

Everything I sell comes from India. I have a deep love for Indian textile crafts, developed through my travels and personal searches for artisans in India itself.

The makers behind my products are small, family-run businesses from different regions of the country, each with its own unique textile traditions. Currently, my collection is created in collaboration with artisans from Kashmir and Jaipur.

I call it my studio. It’s not a shop with regular opening hours, but it does look like a little textile candy store. I truly love it when you come by!

Yes, that’s correct. Not every item you see on Instagram is available in the webshop. Some pieces are one-of-a-kind, part of a small selection, or already sold. Others may be available exclusively in the studio or haven't been photographed for the webshop yet.
